Who doesn't love a good cheeseburger? Exactly, we all do! But sometimes I want a burger without feeling that - ugh - feeling. I absolutely love looking up recipes and tweaking them to become my own creation. I give you...the cheeseburger salad.
Ingredients: (Serves 4)
1 pound ground beef
4 slices of cheddar cheese
1 tsp McCormick's Grill Mates Montreal Steak Seasoning (low sodium)
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Garlic Powder
2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 tbsp of vegetable oil
4 cups romaine lettuce
Dressing (Ranch, Blue Cheese, Cesar - all delicious!)
Toppings: avocado, tomato, onion
Coat a skillet with a tablespoon of oil and heat on medium-high. Place your ground beef in a medium size bowl. Begin by adding the McCormick's Grill Mates, onion and garlic powder to the ground beef. Using a fork, mix the seasonings into the ground beef. Once the seasonings are well incorporated into the ground beef, evenly divide the mixture into four parts and form the hamburger patties.
Place the hamburger patties in the skillet and cook approximately 5 minutes on each side. Splash on the Worcestershire Sauce about halfway through the cooking time. Add the cheddar cheese slices during the last minute of cooking so that it can melt.
Add any toppings you like to your cheeseburger salad such as diced avocado, tomato, and onion along with your favorite dressing and enjoy! It is an absolutely delicious meal that is easily prepared on a busy weeknight.
Let me know if you try it and what you think!
